Hi! My name is Augie Rayner (Coach Augie). I live in Thornwood with my husband, Josh, and two little girls, Amelia (9) and Lucia (6) who are excited to have their mom coaching! I have a long history with swimming - I started swimming competitively at age 11 and swam for First Colony Swim Team, Clements High School, and the University of Houston. Through my college summer breaks I coached the First Colony Gators (1 year) and the Sweetwater Surfers (3 years). I love seeing kids fall in love with swimming! When I am not carting kids around, I work part time for the Houston Marathon managing the Run for a Reason Program! I have many years of athletic competition in swimming, triathlons, and running events and I am excited to coach our Sharks this summer!
I am very excited to be a coach for the Thornwood Sharks! I have been coaching and teaching swim lessons at the MAC for the past 10 years. I grew up in West Houston. I swam competatively with our neighborhood swim team still have some of the fondest memories and friends from those years. I have had a lonve of the water since I was very young and love to share that enthusiasm with all of my swimmers. you will often find me in or areound the water at MACAC. See you all pool side.
