Thornwood Sharks Swim Team

I am incredibly thrilled to return as the coach at Thornwood! This marks my fourth year here, and I couldn’t be more excited. Alongside my role at Thornwood, I am also the head swim coach at Stratford High School.

Swimming has been my lifelong passion, and I had the privilege of swimming for the University of Houston from 1994 to 1996. Over the past 27 years, I have dedicated myself to coaching swimming, working with summer leagues, club teams, and now, high school athletes.

Hi! I’m Coach Brett, and I am thrilled to be returning to the Thornwood Sharks for another season. I’ve been coaching and teaching swimming for over 10 years and have been a swimmer my entire life. When I’m not with the Sharks, you’ll usually find me coaching year-round at the Memorial Athletic Club and Aquatic Center. I can’t wait to see everyone pool side!

Hi! My name is Augie Rayner (Coach Augie). I live in Thornwood with my husband, Josh, and two little girls, Amelia (12) and Lucia (9) who are excited to have their mom coaching! I have a long history with swimming - I started swimming competitively at age 11 and swam for First Colony Swim Team, Clements High School, and the University of Houston. Through my college summer breaks I coached the First Colony Gators (1 year) and the Sweetwater Surfers (3 years). I love seeing kids fall in love with swimming! When I am not carting kids around, I work part time for the Houston Marathon managing the Run for a Reason Program! I have many years of athletic competition in swimming, triathlons, and running events and I am excited to coach our Sharks again this summer!
